Leticia Iglesias Herraiz

Independent Director

She was born in Madrid, in 1964. She has a degree in Economics and Business Sciences, Business Section, Specialization in Finance at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE). She is a member of the Registro Oficial de Cuentas de España (ROAC).

Professional background

She started her career in 1987, working in the Audit Division of Arthur Andersen, which is specialised in the financial and energy sectors. Between 1989 and 2007, she developed her professional career at the Comisión Nacional de Valores CNMV (National Securities Market Commission), where she became Deputy Director. From 2007 to 2013 she was CEO at the Instituto de Censores Jurados de Cuentas de España (ICJCE)(Institute of Chartered Accountants of Spain). In addition, between 2013 and 2017, she held the position of independent director, member of the executive commission, chair of the comprehensive risk commission and member of the audit committee at Banco Mare Nostrum, S.A. (BMN).

During 2017 and 2018, prior to her appointment in ABANCA, she held the position of independent director in Abanca Servicios Financieros, E.F.C., S.A., as well as being Chairwoman of its mixed Audit and Risk Commission.

In May 2018, she has been appointed member of the Board of Directors of ABANCA Corporación Bancaria, S.A., and Chairwoman of the Audit and Compliance Commission.

Other relevant positions: She is an independent director and chairwoman of the Audit Commission of Lar España Real Estate Socimi, S.A. And Aena SME, S.A. Also, she is a member of the Executive Commission of the Club Empresarial ICADE and the foundation PRODIS Centro Especial de Empleo.
