She was born in Madrid, in 1964. She has a degree in Economics and Business Sciences, Business Section, Specialization in Finance at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE). She is a member of the Registro Oficial de Cuentas de España (ROAC).
Professional background
She began her career in 1987, working in the Audit Division of Arthur Andersen, specializing in the financial and energy sectors. Between 1989 and 2007, she developed her professional career at the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV), where she rose to the position of Deputy Director.
From 2007 to 2013, she served as CEO of the Instituto de Censores Jurados de Cuentas de España (ICJCE). Furthermore, between 2013 and 2017, she held the position of independent director, member of the executive committee, chair of the global risk committee, and member of the audit committee at Banco Mare Nostrum, S.A. (BMN), and until December 2024, she was an independent director of LAR España Real Estate SOCIMI, S.A.
In May 2018, she was appointed director of the Board of Directors of ABANCA Corporación Bancaria, S.A.
Other relevant positions: Independent director and chair of the Audit and Compliance Committee of ABANCA Gestión de Activos, S.G.I.I.C., S.A. Independent director and chair of the Audit Committee of Acerinox S.A. Independent director, member of the Audit Committee and of the Sustainability and Climate Action Committee of Aena SME, S.A.
Likewise, she is a member of the International Advisory Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at ICADE and a member of the Executive Committee of the ICADE Business Club. She is also a member of the board of trustees of the Fundación PRODIS Centro Especial de Empleo.
